How do I get started?

The first step for prospective clients is to make an appointment to see the kitchen. Someone is not always available for drop-in showings so it’s important to make an appointment first. We’re happy to answer any questions and will provide you with the information on the paperwork and process you’ll need to get going. (it isn’t much).

If I have a food handler card, do I need a health permit?

YES. You are required to have local county or state permit – depending on the services you wish to provide.

How much does it cost to rent space?

The cost depends on many factors, such as how many hours a month you will need to rent, and how much storage you need (dry, cold and freezer). Our basic minimum package starts at $550 and provides you with some cold and dry storage, and 22 hours of kitchen rental.

Do I need to provide things like cleaning supplies, towels, trash bags, etc?

No, not for your use in the kitchen. Amuse Kitchen provides all the basic cleaning supplies and trash bags for a small monthly fee (based on your time spent in the kitchen). It usually runs between $20-80$ a month.

How long does it usually take to get approved to be in the kitchen?

Local permits can take approximately 30 days after you apply. The rest of the process is easy. We need a certificate of insurance, business license, signed contract and handbook, etc.

Is there a minimum lease term?

No, the rental is month to month with a required cancellation of 30 days.

Is there a deposit?

Not exactly. Once we give you the forms to apply with the county to be in our kitchen, you have 60 days to get your approvals and start paying rent. We take a $500 retainer to hold your space. Once you are in, we convert that money into a deposit and hold for incidental charges or return upon vacancy.
